Did you do anything different in your wedding or reception?
Lots of things that we felt were personal touches. No, ew!

Home Sweet Home

Very cliche, I know, but today I am missing home. a lot.

Maybe the realization that I am starting my job on monday, which makes this whole moving thing that much more real. Maybe looking at houses to move into with my husband, making living here that much more permenant. Maybe talking to my parents on the phone instead of face to face for a week now makes me that much more sad.

Moving here has really been a bittersweet thing. We moved here because of the opportunity to own a home of our own. We wanted to take risks, leave our "bubble" in Ventura County. We wanted to have a life together that allows us to do more than just work, without having to rent. Dont get me wrong, renting is not bad by any means, but we want to have a home of our own.  Our own space we can do what we want to, entertain in, have friends and family over in, and raise kids in. As much as I wish I could just live in the house I have been in my entire life forever, its not reality. The reality is that I have a husband now, and I cant just think of myself. I have to think of us, and of our future. Moving just puts this empty space in your life, that I never thought would be there. I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband, and in-laws who love us to pieces, but it doesnt fill the void of leaving my home.

I can only pray that in time, this will get easier. I will always miss my family, where I grew up, my friends, my old job, but I am excited to make new friends, jump into my new job, and have my family visit/go home to visit as much as possible. Arizona is a great place! Sure its hot, but really, its just like California, except its 10 degrees hotter 3 months out of the year. There are so many young families here following the same dream we are, and that is really comforting. Its only a 5 hour drive, a 1 hour flight, an e-mail, text message, or phone call away.

I had to get that off my chest!

Has anyone ever tried these cookies??

Flowers_2

One word. Yummalicious! I wont tell you how much a box of these stupid things costs, it should be illegal to charge this much, but I only buy them every once in a while, they are sooo delish!!!!

Do not run out to see this movie, I beg of you.

Michael begged me and his mom to go see this on Wednesday when this movie came out, we sat through 20 minutes and pleaded with him to let us leave and go shop. Superbad is far better than this movie, in fact, this one doesn’t even compare! Maybe if we hot boxed the car before going in, or took a couple of shots of tequila, but this movie just didn’t do it for me. Thank goodness the tickets were free.

I totally forgot to post pictures of my car, well actually I did post the, but it went into la-la land, good thing this is still my trial with typepad.

Here is my new baby:

Some compare this car to a toaster

Toaster_2

Any resemblance??

Whatever, I love this little car. It drives pretty sweet, and gets better gas mileage than my 95′ Maxima. The best part about this car is that it is a 2009, zero miles, brand spankin’ new, for $16,000. And it runs on a Camry engine, and we all know Toyota’s last forever. Its the perfect mix between a small crossover SUV and a roomy sedan, perfect for indecisive people like me!!

Do not run out to see this movie. I repeat, just don’t!

Michael dragged me and his mom to see this movie on Wednesday, and we begged him to let us walk out, it was that stupid! I am so disappointed, because I thought super bad was fantastic, but this movie doesn’t even come close. Maybe we should have hot boxed the car before we saw it, or had a couple martinis, I don’t know but it was just stupid. The sense of humor was weird, and the verbiage they use when they talk, it was all just weird to me. I did laugh out loud, I will give my husband that much, but it was just so out there I couldn’t help but laugh!!

I forgot to upload my pictures of my new ride. Its a difficult task you see, because my laptop is running out of memory, so I have to put them from the camera to my external hardrive, then import them to my laptop to save, ugh, its just too much for me, plus its in our bedroom and my husband is snoozing away. We are getting a home computer when we get our place, possibly a MAC, haven’t decided yet, but I want one sooo bad!!! That will make it much easier to organize my photos.

Anyway, here are pictures of my car, thanks google!

Toaster

Ok so that obviously isn’t it, but I guess people say it looks like a toaster. Decide for yourself:

This baby gets awesome gas mileage!! 30 mpg on the freeway, better than my 95′ Maxima. Its quite and drives pretty sweet! When we went out car shopping, I hadn’t even considered this car. We were test driving a Camry and I saw the 09′ Scions and begged Michael to let me test drive it, "just for fun." I got in it, and fell in love. The dealer guy called it a "CUV" since its like a mix between a car and an SUV. The room of a smaller SUV, with the great gas mileage of a car. Its built with a Camry engine, so I know this little guy will last forever. Plus, brand spankin new with no miles, its $16,000. A bargain if you ask me!!! I love my new little car, its so cute, and just perfect for what we need it for :)

Banana Bread

Bread

YUM!!!

This is what you get when you combine 4 pathetic looking bananas, with sugar and flour and other baking things. I love banana bread, hot out of the oven with a big slab of butter. Its making my mouth water already. Good thing I have some left :)

Here is the recipe for anyone who maybe has some pathetic bananas, or wants to jot it down. Its super easy, and is great for muffins, too!

Banana Banana Bread

Source: Allrecipes.com

Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas i just used 4 because its what I had and it turned out fine, didnt measure it or anything

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350, lightly grease a 9×5 baking pan

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a seperate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

3. Bake in preheated over 60-65 minutes, until toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer onto a wire wrack.

4. Cut slice for yourself immediately and eat before your husband catches you!

We had a smaller loaf pan, so 52 minutes was perfect, and I made 4 large muffins with the leftover batter, those cooked for 30 minutes and were perfect. I threw in a handful of mini chocolate chips into the muffins, yum! Adding 1/2 cup walnuts is great too if you like nutty bread. Oh and I also added a capful of vanilla because I have mexican vanilla and its soo much better than any vanilla I have tried!!

Enjoy!!
