2 Month Letter

Dear Sweet Olivia,

Wow! I cant believe that 2 months has gone by since you came into our lives. I will never, ever forget the love I felt for you on June 10th, 2009 at 2:42 pm. That love has continued to grow every minute, hour, day, week and now month, and will continue to as long as I am lucky enough to enjoy my life with you in it.

I am not going to lie and say it has been easy, it has been a challenge, I am still learning every day and hopefully growing to be a mother as amazing as my own (really, your Grandma is pretty dang amazing!). I hold you in my arms and dream of what it will feel like to celebrate each milestone with you, holding your first toy, your first laugh, first tooth, first steps, first bike…there are SO many things the future holds and Daddy and I cant wait to celebrate every one with you!

One of my favorite things to see these last 2 months, besides your cute (now smiling on occasion) face, is your Daddy transform into a father. Unfortunately, you will never get to meet Grandpa Mike, he went to heaven before mommy and daddy met, but we promise we will tell you all about him because he was a pretty cool guy and would have loved being your Grandpa. Your Daddy is so patient and gentle with you, he loves to just hold you and kiss you, and never once complains about anything, even poopy diapers! His favorite things are bathing you and reading you books, and I think they are your favorite too because lately you have been giving him giant smiles and laughs. When mommy goes back to work, it will just be you and Dad all day, and I know he is really looking forward to spending alone time, just you and him (and of course Kobe!).

This month you have become so much more alert, your head is always moving around, following voices and sounds, you have found your voice and make the sweetest little coo's. You finally cracked a smile around 6 weeks and daddy and I spend most of the day trying to get you to do it more (it melts our hearts). You found your hands this week, and love touching your face and even batting at toys on your tummy time mat. You have started to enjoy bath time, and you have stopped crying in your car seat (for the most part). You still don't like going out shopping with mom, but that's ok I got a while to work on that! You still sleeps tons, and loooove your swing. You eat like a champ, and were 8 pounds 3 ounces at your 2 month check up! We are so amazed by you every day little girl, you fill our home with so much joy.

Olivia, the one thing that I want you to know as your make your way into this world, and I hope I will tell you ten million times in your lifetime, is how very proud I am to be a mother, and its all because of you. Thank you baby.

I love you to the moon and back,

Momma

Mommy could not have said it any better. We are both so proud of you every day and look forward daily to the memories you are going to bring us. Love, Daddy
