I thought I would pop on while Miss O is napping this morning and write her 5 month letter. Wow, the last month she has changed so much, she is growing leaps and bounds, and I am just so proud of our little girl!! I will post her 5 month pictures (that I have not taken) tomorrow I hope!
Dear Miss Olivia,
You are one month away from being 6 months old…really?!?! How am I so lucky to have had the chance to spend this many blessed days with you in my life? I must have done something right somewhere along the line, because you are the greatest blessing I could have ever recieved. It has been so fun to watch you grow, you are turning into such a cute little baby with so much personality. I think you changed the most from 4 months to now, so much that I cant even remember you as the little baby that just lay there and didnt do much (although my heart longs to be back to that first day you were born, the first time and held you and never wanted to let go). Me and you went on our first road trip solo, Daddy stayed home and we drove to California to see mommys family. Although the car ride was rough, it was so good to see everyone, and to get to show them how much you have grown. Everyone says you are gorgeous, just like your mommy
At 5 months you are
*Loving playing with toys
*Grabbing at things and holding them tight
*Able to take your binky out of your mouth and actually put it back IN!
*Learning that you can scream with your voice, and you do it often, especially when you want our attention
*Growing out of your fussy stage (The first 4 months were rough little girl!)
*Content sitting in your bumbo chair or rainforest swing
*Still LOVING your swing, you take all your naps in it, and lately your morning naps have been about 3 hours (yay for mommy!)
*Going to bed every night around 7 and up for the day around 7 (although still up twice each night for a bottle)
*Starting to notice Kobe (our dog), letting him lick your face, and grabbing for him when hes close by
*Not afraid of strangers, you love when anyone holds you (for the most part) and will laugh and smile at pretty much anyone (especially men!)
*Not quite ready to sit up, but working on it
*Able to roll from tummy to back (you did that at 3 months) and now are rolling from back to tummy. It is pretty funny to watch since you have not figured out how to free your arms when they are underneath you.
*Are about 11 and a half pounds, and 25 inches (still soo skinny and long!)
*Barely fitting into your 3 month clothes, can still wear some newborn carter onesies actually
*Love listening to music and Daddys crazy songs, he never knows the words so he makes up his own tunes
*You listen to classical music during naptime and love it
*You have started opening your mouth super wide when we lean in to kiss you, its so slobbery and cute
*You still love baths, especially with the “this is the way we wash our…” song
*Still cry in the car seat from time to time, but are slowly growing out of it
*Love playing in the new exersaucer Ella’s mommy loaned us
and the biggest milestone this month….(drumroll please)
*YOUR FIRST TOOTH POPPED THROUGH!! (you have been teething for a long time so I am glad to see that it may bring you some relief, but makes mommy so sad to hit a milestone that means your growing bigger!)
Olivia, I love you more than the world. I am so happy to be your mommy, and so lucky to have such a special daughter. I hope our bond grows stronger with each passing day, and as you look back and read these one day I hope you know how much I loved you from the very start. Some nights, I rock you in your rocking chair and just snuggle you for what seems like forever, knowing that someday soon, you wont need or want me to rock you anymore. Someday you will be trying to push me away because you learned to walk and walking is always better than having to be held. Someday you wont need me to hold your bottles. Someday you wont need me to give you baths and to brush your hair and get you dressed, so for now, while you still DO need me, I plan to soak up every single second, even if it means putting off the laundry or forgoing my shows on TIVO, because right now at this moment in my life you are 5 months old, and I want to enjoy every second of it!
Love you baby girl!
Love,
Momma
